 In his three terms as mayor, LaGuardia’s massive infrastructure program made New York the first modern American city. Among his contributions:
- Producing over 40 parks and green spaces
- Structuring miles of parkways
- Securing public housing projects
- Building the Lincoln, Brooklyn-Battery, and Queens-Midtown Tunnels
- Forming the East & West Side Highways
- Constructing the Triborough Bridge
- Creating LaGuardia and Kennedy Airports
- Establishing a unified subway system
