The LaGuardia Foundation (LGF) enjoys the financial support of many organizations. Please refer to individual websites for more information. Comune di Milano (Milan, Italy) was among the first local governments in Europe to recognize the potential for providing international development assistance and simultaneously supporting early experiments in the development of greenhouse gas reduction credits. The LaGuardia Foundation received its first major grant from the Comune di Milano. The three-year grant provided the basis for our PREP-ASSIST program, which laid the groundwork for MOSAICO.
The Blue Moon Fund (BMF,Charlottesville, Virginia, USA) is the LaGuardia Foundation's most important strategic partner. BMF contributes significant intellectual and financial resources to MOSAICO, the network that is the focus of LGF's sustainable development efforts.
Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnerships (REEEP Vienna, Austria) is supporting two LGF projects in Brazil through the Global Opportunities Fund of the United Kingdom. REEEP's emphasis on the development of innovative financing mechanisms in local markets mirrors that of LGF.
Fondazione Cariplo (Milan, Italy), among the ten largest foundations in the world in terms of endowment, awarded the LGF its first grant from an Italian foundation to support the Projeto H20 Agua Solar project aimed at alleviating poverty in the Brazilian Northeast.
The National Italian-American Foundation (NIAF, Washington D.C.) was the LaGuardia Foundation's very first donor. Their support validated LGF in the Italian-American community, at the same time supporting the development of the conceptual framework for PREPASSIST.
